Community 1st Oldham (C1O) was established in November 2004 under the Government’s Local Improvement Finance Trust Initiative (LIFT) programme as a public private partnership set up specifically to develop and maintain community based primary health and social care and community premises in the Oldham borough. Oldham’s 25 year LIFT programme brings together NHS Oldham, Oldham Council, North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust and Community 1st Oldham to develop and deliver modern state-of-the-art community facilities closer to where people live and facilitate greater joined up service delivery. While our initial focus was on developing facilities to support improved primary care provision, the move towards greater colocation and integration of health, social care and community services has allowed the LIFT partnership to thrive and develop exciting community facilities which are home to a range of services and which offer Oldham’s local communities an excellent opportunity to benefit from the real investment being made towards a healthier future.

Following the success of the Community 1st Healthy Living Sponsorship programme in Oldham last year, Community 1st Oldham is delighted that it has been successful in securing a Sportsmatch award to match their funding for the programme for another year.
StreetGames is a national charity dedicated to developing doorstep sport in disadvantaged communities and Community 1st Oldham sponsors a programme of healthy living initiatives and events run by StreetGames, including the annual free entry Oldham Run4Fun and a range of sport and youth activities across Oldham.
