By sparing no more than 5 minutes of your time to complete this confidential survey, you’ll be providing valuable insights that will help us provide the best possible service in the weeks and months to come.

Frequently asked questions

I have made a booking for a court what happens to my money?

Credits for all casual paid bookings have been automatically made the week following the closure. This means credits have been added to your account and will be available to use when we reopen.

How can I contact Oldham Community Leisure during the close down?

In line with government advice our team’s capacity has been reduced to a minimum and our employees are working from home. However, emails via info@ocll.co.uk and through our web site contact form will be answered by the contact centre team. We are also taking telephone calls Monday – Friday 10am-6pm 0161 207 7000.

What are OCL doing with their employees and their facilities during the prolonged closure?

We are suspending the majority of employees, on full pay, and using voluntary contributions to ensure all staff, regardless of their contract status, receive their usual pay. This is in-line with government guidance where the advice is to protect our people from contacting and spreading the virus. Some employees have been and continue to volunteer to support the community to help with food distribution, welfare of NHS staff and community swabbing. We have a small team of employees that are continuing to work. This team are delivering essential tasks such as building checks, partnership working i.e. supporting the NHS, keeping the community updated and providing a customer support mechanism.

Why are the leisure centres closed?

In line with Government guidance aimed at halting the spread of coronavirus, all Oldham Community Leisure facilities are closed. We understand that our facilities and activities are important to you and of course we will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.

When will the venues reopen?

This will be decided by the UK Government. Given the situation is completely unprecedented the environment is continually changing. As such we are unable to confirm how long we will be closed, we will continue to reassess the situation and provide a further update as and when we can. During this time we will continue to follow the advice and updates provided by the Government, Public Health England and NHS.

What is happening to my health and fitness membership during closure?

If you have a health and fitness membership at Oldham Community Leisure, we have automatically frozen your payments until we reopen. This was processed on the 23rd March 2020. We ask that you do not cancel your direct debit to avoid unnecessary administration when your membership can be restarted. If you have paid up front, in full, for an annual health and fitness membership, it will automatically be extended when we reopen so that the duration of the closure period is added and you do not lose any of your membership period. We recognise and are extremely grateful for the fact that a number of our customers are able and happy to continue to pay their membership fees in recognition of the fact that it helps us over the period of uncertainty. We have taken the decision to use these voluntary contributions from members towards ensuring a fair level of financial support for our staff, especially for those whose income would otherwise not be supported by government funding. This includes the staff who drop in at short notice to clean, lifeguard, serve and deliver classes at short-notice to cover the regular and contracted staff. If you do wish to make a contribution to support our casual workers please click here and we will liaise with you about how much you would be willing to contribute or maintaining your regular direct debit payment.
