Throughout the pandemic we’ve focused our attention on providing a safe environment and innovative activities wherever possible and we’re really grateful that you have maintained your membership during this difficult period.
However, like many businesses we have been heavily impacted by Covid-19 with a loss of membership revenue and significant increases in costs.
To address this and ensure our long-term viability we have decided to address the long standing discounted memberships enjoyed by our members. OCL have never increased prices for existing memberships, in some cases members have been paying the same membership price for over 15 years and have effectively been frozen at that price while their membership has remained live.
In order for us to be able to continually invest and improve our offer for members, provide the highest level of customer service and deliver targeted programmes improve the health of people in Oldham, we have restructured our existing gym memberships for those joining before 1st January 2021.
Our restructure of memberships will involve setting a base minimum price and keeping increases to a capped maximum for all existing members to ensure a consistent approach and to rationalise the overall number of membership categories. Unlike many other businesses, your revised charge will remain cheaper than the prices available to new members for the vast majority of members and no one will pay more than the new joiner prices.
The notice to existing members will be sent in the coming weeks with price increases applied from 1st September. We will be notifying affected members directly via email and text so please let us know if your details need updating.
