Saddleworth Pool & Leisure Centre

We’re excited to announce some impressive changes that are taking place at Saddleworth Pool & Leisure Centre this summer.

The centre will see the main gym area get a stunning new makeover, which will include all new, state of the art Technogym kit installed, alongside a huge free-weights area and exciting new functional training equipment to give you a good all-over body workout.

The planned improvements will cause minimal disruption to users, but will enable us to continue to provide excellent facilities, ensuring we stay the leading leisure provider in the area.  The gym will close at the end of the day on Sunday 4th August and reopen 6.30am Wednesday 21st August. The sauna will close at the end of the day on Sunday 4th August and reopen Monday 19th August.

 

 

As part of the improvments we will also be introducing new extended opening times which will start from Monday 2nd September.

During the part closure of the centre, members can use other Oldham Active facilities and can still use the pool, 3G pitches, studio and changing rooms as normal.

When will the gym and sauna close?

The gym will close at the end of the day on Sunday 4th August and reopen 6.30am Wednesday 21st August. The sauna will close at the end of the day on Sunday 4th August and reopen Monday 19th August.

Is the full centre closed?

No. Just the gym and sauna. All other activities and facilities are still available for you to use as normal.

Where can I do my gym workout during this time?

You can work out at any of our other Oldham Active Centre gyms, which are located in Oldham, Royton, Chadderton and Failsworth.

When will it reopen?

The sauna will reopen on Monday 19th August and the gym will reopen on Wednesday 21st August.

What happens if I don’t want to work out at another centre?

No problem, we can freeze your membership and you can pick back up with us when the sauna and gym re-open, then have your contract extended by the time that’s been frozen.

What can I expect when I come back to the new gym?

Amazing, state of the art gym equipment, more than double the free weights area we had before and an outstanding range of functional training equipment to push your limits to new heights.

We thought it was time for a refresh and update, to give you the latest in workout equipment to keep you improving as much as the new look Saddleworth is too.

You’ll also receive regular email updates. Remember to check your email address is up to date to ensure that you stay well informed of progress.

LONGER OPENING HOURS

The gym will open at the earlier time of 6am on Tuesday and Thursday and will be open until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday from Monday 2nd September.

LARGER &AND MORE VARIED FREE WEIGHTS

We’ll be introducing a bigger weights area with more equipment, heavier weights & new racks.

FUNCTIONAL TRAINING EQUIPMENT

We’ll be stocking the gym with medicine balls, powerbands, kettlebells and
speed ladders, to give you a good all-over body workout.

NEW TIMETABLES WITH MORE VARIETY

We’ll be introducing new class and pool timetables with more variety and more of the sessions you love.

NEW TECHNOGYM EQUIPMENT

The gym will have all your favourite cardio machines which will now include TV, internet, apps, games and much more from Technogym.

NEW MOBILE APP COMING SOON

Our new app coming soon, will make managing and booking classes and sessions much easier, plus you’ll be able to track your exercises, check centre details and much more.

Saddleworth has become a favourite within the area, thanks to its outstanding facilities and location. Based in Uppermill, Saddleworth Pool & Leisure Centre boasts over 50 gym stations, using Technogym equipment with integrated TVs and entertainment systems. You can also book personal training sessions for extra help and support.

The centre will see the main gym area get a stunning new makeover, which will include all new, state of the art Technogym kit installed, alongside a huge free-weights area and exciting new functional training equipment to give you a good all-over body workout.

The Technogym equipment is cutting edge, and features TV, internet, integrated apps and games to keep you entertained and on track throughout your fitness journey with us. We’re also introducing some exciting new kit in the form of Climbmills, Skillrowers, a Skillbike and Skierg.

Additional to this, we’re also making some subtle improvements to other areas too, so your time with us keeps getting better and better. From our relaunch date, we’ll be opening the centre earlier from 6am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and closing later on Saturdays and Sundays at 6pm, so you can work out longer with us at times to suit a busy schedule.

During this time, the gym and sauna will be closed, but the pool, studio, 3G pitches and changing rooms will still be open as usual. For members wanting to work out in the gym, we’re giving you the option to use any of our other centres during this time, or you can freeze your membership for a month, meaning you can pick back up with us on 1st September, and have your contract extended by that month that’s been frozen.
